Things have started to pick up pace at Stamford Bridge once again. It looks like Chelsea have already agreed a deal to transfer Renato Veiga to Villarreal. And before this summer window closes, there could be plenty more players who end up leaving the club. On the other hand, the fans are hoping for a few arrivals as well.
Chelsea have already made four fresh signings this summer. They have brought in Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens and Jorrel Hato, and are still looking at Alejandro Garnacho and Xavi Simons as potential additions before the window closes on September 1.
The arrivals of Delap and Pedro have had an impact on Nicolas Jackson's place at the club though. And now, it looks like he is more likely to leave than stay. In fact, a reunion with a familiar face could be on the cards for the former Villarreal striker.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Aston Villa are pushing for Jackson as the top target wanted by Unai Emery. They worked together at Villarreal and the relationship is excellent, with talks ongoing over the formula or structure of the deal.

Jackson arrived at Chelsea in the summer of 2023 after a successful season with Villarreal. In the two years that have followed, we have seen some flashes of absolute brilliance from the Senegalese striker.
Jackson is excellent with the ball at his feet, top quality when it comes to linking up play and a willing runner as well. But what he seems to be lacking at the moment is finishing and composure in front of goal, and the discipline when it comes to staying out of the referee's books. Those are important aspects for elite strikers and unfortunately, he has not improved in either area over the past two seasons.
Now, with added competition at Chelsea, Jackson does not seem to be keen on competing for his spot in the team. So, do not be surprised if he completes a late exit this summer, whether it be to Aston Villa or somewhere else. Newcastle United and Bayern Munich are believed to be keeping an eye out on the situation as well.
