Chelsea find themselves in a complicated situation at the moment. On one hand, they have earned just six points from their last five Premier League matches, winning only once. On the other hand, Enzo Maresca, who successfully led the club to Club World Cup and Conference League glory last season, has been shown the exit after rumours of a deteriorating relationship with the ownership.

As a result, Chelsea are currently looking for a new manager to fill this vacancy. It's mid-season, and needless to say, the Blues will hope to resolve this situation quickly to avoid jeopardising their chances of success in this campaign.

A few names have been linked for the role, including former Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas. Unsurprisingly, the Spaniard isn't the only contender, with reports now suggesting that the Blues are considering other individuals as well. One of them is already in their system.

Fabrizio Romano recently posted on X, stating that Chelsea will appoint a new manager soon, and it won’t take weeks or a long time. In the meantime, Stasbourg boss Liam Rosenior has emerged as one of the contenders.

Rosenior has done an admirable job at Strasbourg since his arrival in 2024, managing 62 matches and winning 31 of them. Before that, he was at Hull City and was the interim Derby County boss for a little while, too.

Notably, Strasbourg are under the same ownership as Chelsea, so it wouldn’t be too difficult for the Blues to sign the manager if they decide to pursue him. Moreover, the English tactician is familiar with the style of football the owners prefer, which is an advantage.

Nevertheless, for now, let’s just wait and see who is given the green light to manage this Chelsea team, which possesses a lot of quality and needs proper guidance to unlock their true potential. Most fans would prefer for a proven and experienced manager to be brought in, but there is little hope of that happening.
