Since Bournemouth's return to the Premier League in 2022, the two sides have played each other eight times, with Chelsea unbeaten against the Cherries in that period, winning four of those games, and disappointingly drawing the other four.

Here are five players who have played for both Chelsea and Bournemouth.

1. Gary Cahill

Cahill joined Chelsea in 2012 from Bolton Wanderers after an impressive four years at the Reebok, for a reported fee of around £7 million, where he made 130 appearances.

The Englishman endured a successful stint at Stamford Bridge, winning the Champions League and the FA Cup in his first season with the club, as well as two Premier League trophies in 2014/15, and 2016/17, not to mention multiple domestic trophies.

Cahill's time at Chelsea came to an end in 2019, after only making two Premier League appearances the past season, he would spend two seasons with Crystal Palace, before making the move to the South Coast for a season in the Championship with the Cherries, in 2021/22 making 22 league appearances.

2. Nathan Ake

Ake had been one of Chelsea's highest-rated youth prospects after joining the club in 2010, aged 15, from Feyenoord, but was never given a chance at Stamford Bridge, only playing seven matches for the Blues and was sold to Bournemouth, making him their club record signing, for £20 million.

Ake was sent out on loan to Bournemouth in 2016/17, but would be recalled in January after making 12 appearances for the Cherries. During his time at the Vitality Stadium, Ake cemented his place as one of the league's best young centre-backs, showing Chelsea what they could have had if they'd given him more game time.

3. Morgan Rogers

Morgan Rogers, who has started his Chelsea career off to a flying start, began at West Bromwich Albion before signing for Manchester City, where he was loaned to Lincoln, Bournemouth, and Blackpool.

During his time at Bournemouth, Rogers' game time was limited to mainly substitute appearances, scoring one goal for the club in his 17 appearances, against Luton Town in a 3-2 loss.

His performances at Aston Villa piqued the interest of Chelsea, who signed the 24-year-old in the summer of 2026, making him the most expensive Englishman ever, and he currently has seven goal involvements in his first seven games.

4. Kepa Arrizabalaga

Once signed as the most expensive goalkeeper in history, Kepa's Chelsea career didn't pan out how the Spaniard had hoped when signing for the club in 2018.

Kepa would go on to make 163 Chelsea appearances across his four seasons in West London, arguably his most memorable moment in a Chelsea shirt came in the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City, in which he refused to be substituted ahead of the penalty shootout, which Chelsea lost.

For the 2024/25 season, Kepa was loaned out to Bournemouth as a replacement for Neto, where he would make 31 appearances and keep eight clean sheets.

5. Asmir Begovic

Chelsea bought Begovic from Stoke in 2015 for £8 million as part of a move that sent Marco van Ginkel on loan the other way. Making his competitive debut in a 1-0 loss to Arsenal in the Community Shield.

In his first season at the club, the Bosnian played 25 games, but would only be limited to eight games the following year, after speculation that he would leave the club, but Chelsea were unable to find a replacement.

Begovic would be sold to Bournemouth for £10 million in 2016, making 113 appearances across his four seasons on the south coast.
