Pedro Neto might be the best striker option right now

With Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu sidelined with injury through at least the March international break, Chelsea have been struggling to score goals at a consistent rate. The aforementioned Christopher Nkunku has not been the answer at forward and has been outplayed in that role by Pedro Neto.

Neto was deployed as the striker against Aston Villa and had a case for man of the match had the Blues won. He created Chelsea’s lone goal with a driving run down the wing and was a constant threat throughout the match though his end product was lacking.

Against Southampton, Neto was back up top at striker and he was excellent once again. His run for Chelsea’s second goal was perfectly timed and it allowed Nkunku to play a simple through pass to him before he smashed it home past Aaron Ramsdale.

Neto also assisted Levi Colwill for the third goal with a perfect free kick from a dangerous position. With the Copenhagen match coming up next week the easy choice is to have Neto hold down that striker spot until Nicolas Jackson is ready to return for the second leg on March 13.
