3. Fulham looks to do the double as Chelsea’s spiral continues
The last time the two teams faced each other, it was at Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day of 2024. Despite taking a lead through Cole Palmer, Fulham fought back by scoring two in the final 10 minutes to get a win. It was one of the first poor results Chelsea had at the beginning of the current run of disappointing form they are enduring.
However, the last time Chelsea made the short journey to Craven Cottage in the previous season, the Blues won 2-0. Nevertheless, Fulham lost their recent Premier League match at Bournemouth. However, in their last home game, they registered an impressive 3-2 win against league leaders Liverpool.
A win for Marco Silva’s side would take them just three points behind the Blues. Considering the form of the two sides, it won’t be a surprise if Enzo Maresca’s side falls short yet again. It would also mean Fulham doing the double over their London rivals.
Every time fans hope it can’t get any lower than what they have just witnessed after a match, Enzo Maresca finds a way to make it worse the next time. As such, not many fans would be expecting things to turn around dramatically, especially when Maresca appears determined to stick with his ineffective tactical approach, even when it has produced no results or visible improvement from any player under his coaching.
