Today is the 120th birthday of Chelsea Football Club and the staff here at The Pride of London wanted to share our love and appreciation for the Blues. So as site expert, I asked our staff members to share their stories of how they came to support the best club in the world and why it means so much to them. We’d love to hear from you as well so tell us why you love Chelsea on our Twitter page @prideolondon and we’ll share it with our readers.

Now on to the tributes!

Karan Siani - Supporter since 2011

The first Chelsea game I ever watched was the highlights of the 2008 Champions League final—a heartbreaking loss. Back then, I wasn’t a Chelsea fan, just someone introduced to the club through that moment. But in 2011, during the Round of 16 against Napoli, I found myself watching Chelsea again, drawn back to a team I had seen before. And what a time to return.

We were on the brink, written off by many, yet we kept coming back. That 5-4 aggregate win over Napoli sparked something magical, a historic run that ended with Chelsea lifting the Champions League trophy in Munich. In a way, I witnessed Chelsea at their lowest in 2008, only to truly fall in love with them when they rose against all odds in 2012.

As a Chelsea supporter, my love for this club has followed me across continents. Back when I was in India, I stayed up until 1 AM to watch those magical Champions League nights. Now in Canada, I find myself waking up at 7 AM for early Premier League kickoffs.

No matter where I am, Chelsea makes or breaks my weekend. I’ve skipped family gatherings, taken time off work—anything to catch the Blues in action. And I’ve even made it to Stamford Bridge to see the boys live.

This club is special, unlike anything else. Wins bring pure joy, losses sting deeply, but the love never fades. Blue is forever.

Happy 120th, Chelsea. Here’s to more trophies, more unforgettable moments, and a lifetime of passion for this beautiful club.
