It has been a while since Chelsea have made any additions to their squad. The last one was Jorrel Hato's arrival from Ajax. We have seen plenty of rumours linking them with Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho. While those talks are believed to be moving in the right direction, it would be difficult to complete the moves unless some players leave first.
On the other hand, it looks like BlueCo have completed a future signing for Chelsea. But he is headed to RC Strasbourg first.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Julio Enciso will join the BlueCo group, spending this season at Strasbourg, then joining Chelsea. The move is a 'here we go'. His 2025/26 season will be in France and then future at Stamford Bridge, with a contract until 2031 plus an option until 2032.
This has been backed up by other outlets as well. Nizaar Kinsella reported that Enciso is close to joining Strasbourg for £17.3m, and will join Chelsea after a season in France. It's subject to personal terms but looking likely.
'Here we go' - Another Chelsea signing finally confirmed
Of course, Enciso already knows all about English football. He has been on the books at Brighton & Hove Albion since 2022 and has even had a standout performance against Chelsea in the past.
That being said, it has not been smooth sailing for Enciso in recent times, which is why Brighton & Hove Albion are ready to part ways with him for such a reasonable transfer fee. He has dealt with injury issues and lost his form along the way as well. He even spent the second half of last season on loan at Ipswich Town.
Let's see if Enciso can rediscover his form at Strasbourg or not. After that, we can think about his long-term future at Chelsea.
