A tough week for Chelsea concluded with a bit of a high. When it had looked like all hope was lost, and they were going to end it with another defeat, a late injury-time goal from Enzo Fernandez salvaged an away draw against Manchester City. It was a hard-fought point for the Blues. Now, they should be looking to build on that as they enter their next era, following Enzo Maresca's sacking.

A lot will depend on how the next manager does though. A bad appointment can derail the rest of the season. And considering how stubborn this ownership can be with their ideas, very possibly even longer than that.

Often, it feels like this ownership's structure has taken precedence over Chelsea's success since the takeover. We might be about to see another example of that with the next appointment, which is going to be the most risky one they have ever made.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Liam Rosenior arrives in London tonight ahead of the Chelsea appointment. The interview is to take place in the next 24 hours, with him expected to become the new head coach next week.

Of course, many do not agree with the choice to push for Rosenior as the next Chelsea manager. In their view, he simply does not have the credentials for a job of this magnitude.

He has done well enough at Strasbourg. But that is a mid-table French Ligue 1 club with little expectation. Before that, he was Hull City manager in the Championship, and did a pretty good job there too.

By the looks of it, Rosenior is a very good manager. Is he the right one for Chelsea though? At Stamford Bridge, you have to deliver trophies. At least in the eyes of the fans. Who knows what the owners expect from their head coaches!

We would also be remiss if we did not mention the situation that Strasbourg find themselves in. As part of the BlueCo structure, it has always been pretty clear that they have been placed as the B team in the pecking order. But even then, it feels slightly unfair for the Blues to go and pluck their manager in the middle of the season. It is not hard to understand why their supporters are so unhappy with the ownership. It is telling how neither fanbase seems to be happy with them.
