Leicester 1-2 Chelsea: Blues Positives and Negatives
By Vishnu Raj
2. Enzo Fernandez Shines Again
Enzo Fernandez continued his excellent form, registering an assist and a goal despite returning late from international duty with Argentina. His assist for Jackson’s goal was followed by a well-taken header to double Chelsea’s lead. Despite visible fatigue, Fernandez played the full 90 minutes and earned the Premier League Man of the Match award.
3. Impressive First Starts for Badiashile and Felix
Injury setbacks for Malo Gusto and Pedro Neto opened opportunities for Benoit Badiashile and Joao Felix to make their first Premier League starts of the campaign. Both players seized the moment.
Badiashile excelled in ball distribution, making the most passes and final third entries in the match, along with a high number of crosses. His performance hinted at his potential, which consistency can unlock.
Felix was equally influential, winning nine duels, recovering possession five times, creating a chance, and completing four take-on. His close ball control troubled Leicester’s defense, and his work ethic was commendable. Felix made a strong case to retain his starting spot next week.
4. Chelsea maintains the Third Spot in the Table
Despite an imperfect performance, Chelsea’s win kept them third in the Premier League table. Tottenham’s victory over Manchester City later in the day left Chelsea just one point behind the defending champions. Arsenal and Brighton, both also on 22 points, trail Chelsea due to goal-scoring and goal difference, respectively. Chelsea must build on this result to sustain their position and aim for greater consistency.
