Sarr joined from Chelsea's sister club, Strasbourg, in 2025 and made his debut in the Club World Cup against Esperance in a 3-0 win; however, shortly after the tournament finished, Sarr was sent back out to Strasbourg on loan, where he made 18 appearances, but was recalled by Liam Rosenior in February as cover for Chelsea's first team.

The Senegal international is currently on loan at Real Sociedad, which he describes as his "perfect club" after shedding light on a stint at Chelsea, admitting he saw “no sign of life” for his career following “horrible” criticism.

"It was really very difficult – a rollercoaster. I was coming back from the AFCON and I was on a cloud. I started to play, have some good matches."

When Sarr was recalled by Chelsea, he was thrown into the deep end against PSG and with Chelsea already 5-2 down on aggregate, his night wasn't going to get any better. Filling in at right-back in the absence of Malo Gusto and Reece James, the youngster gave possession away and allowed Kvicha Kvaratskhelia to open the scoring before being hooked at half-time by Liam Rosenior

"The first week was horrible regarding the criticism. And Rosenior, who brought me, was quickly ejected. No longer doing your job, staying on the bench and watching your teammates play was very hard to experience, especially without any explanation."
"“And then, at the World Cup, I thought that I’d be playing, but, without rhythm, I didn’t.”"

When Sarr came back to Chelsea, Sarr fell way down the pecking order, behind new signing Maxence Lacroix, Levi Colwill, and Josh Acheampong, and especially after the sacking of Liam Rosenior at the back end of last season squashed any hope of forcing his way back into the fold at Stamford Bridge.

The Senegalese barely put a foot wrong in the matches before PSG against Arsenal, Hull and Wrexham, but the mistake against the Parisians was the final nail in the coffin for him, as after that he would only be given nine more minutes of playing time.

But since his move to Spain, Sarr has made 778 minutes in all competitions, starting nine games and helping the team rise to fifth in the table after 11 matches.

During his time at Real Sociedad, Sarr revealed that he is now a lot happier and has regained his confidence.

"I feel alive again. At that time, I had to be patient and find the best way to leave. I had a huge desire to play, a very, very strong one, with only one thing on my mind: playing football."
""I came here to get back playing time, rebuild my confidence, and experience a new style of football. Now I have a coach who is willing to play me, and I am working hard to repay his trust.""
