Levi Colwill: 6.5/10
Colwill's passing was careless as well, but unlike his center-back partner, he was not as dominant in his duels. His duel-winning was poor, and his long passing, which is usually better than Fofana's, was notably worse, completing just 1/6. Fortunately, he has youth on his side, as center-backs tend to peak later than attacking players.
Reece James: 7/10
James had a strong performance, especially considering he played out of position. He effectively limited Garnacho’s opportunities, given how frequently Man United attacked down that side. He was the most dominant defender in his duels, winning 8/10, and completed 89% of his passes. He also excelled in long passing.
Moises Caicedo: 8/10
Caicedo was impressive, actively making it difficult for Man United. He was busy in the midfield, attempting 16 ground duels and winning 50% of them. His passing was inconsistent, but his long passing stood out. He was also instrumental in winning free kicks for Chelsea, even if they did not capitalize on those set-piece opportunities.
Romeo Lavia: 7/10
Lavia performed adequately, excelling more out of possession than in it. He carried the ball well and won the majority of his duels, but his passing left much to be desired, completing only 82%.
Noni Madueke: 5.5/10
Madueke's most notable contribution was missing the only clear-cut chance Chelsea had, which may have been their only shot from a set piece. The former PSV Eindhoven forward did not create anything and failed to contribute defensively. He won just 1/3 of his offensive duels and 1/5 of his defensive duels—poor.
Cole Palmer: 8/10
Palmer was once again a reliable option for Chelsea. He created the only big chance for the Blues and played a crucial role in buildup and ball progression. He won 4/4 offensive duels and 5/6 defensive duels. No one on the pitch won more fouls than he did (4). Palmer was the creative midfielder yet completed a higher proportion of his passes (85%) than the two players in the midfield pivot (82% and 84%).
Pedro Neto: 6.5/10
Neto won as many fouls as Palmer, but like Madueke, he created nothing. However, he did contribute defensively, unlike Madueke. Chelsea fans are still waiting to see exciting performances from Neto, especially given his upgrade from the Conference League squad to the Premier League squad.
Nicolas Jackson: 7/10
Jackson did as well as could be expected for a striker whose two out of three attacking midfielders created no chances, and none of the three created a big chance in open play. He was a good outlet for Chelsea, winning three fouls, 5/6 ground duels, and contributing defensively.
