With merely a week left in the summer transfer window, some Chelsea fans might be starting to get nervous about the lack of activity at Stamford Bridge in terms of incomings in recent weeks. For a while now, it has been believed that the club have been working on deals for Alejandro Garnacho and Xavi Simons. Neither has materialised though.
At this point in time, it is believed that the move for Garnacho is the more likely of the two. But for now, Chelsea are said to be confident about getting both deals over the line before the summer transfer window closes.
As we get closer to the deadline, those chances will start to decrease. Any move is believed to be dependent on exits taking place first.
Chelsea might be trying to come up with clever ways to get a deal over the line in time. As reported by The Sun, Manchester United have reportedly turned down the chance to sign Tyrique George in a swap deal involving Garnacho.

George is another player who has been linked with a move away ahead of the summer transfer window deadline. The player is believed to be seeking regular first-team football. That might not be on the cards at Chelsea, with Jamie Gittens arriving and Garnacho expected to be brought in if things go according to plan.
It is worth pointing out that George is drawing interest from other clubs as well. It is believed that AS Roma have sounded out the possibility of a move.
On the other hand, there has also been speculation about RB Leipzig preparing a €15 million-plus offer for his signature. So, it remains to be seen how things will turn out between now and deadline day.
