Manchester United want to sign Chelsea player out of nowhere

It looks like Manchester United want to sign a Chelsea player out of nowhere, following one of their worst seasons in recent memory.

Things are starting to look up for Chelsea after a couple of bad seasons. They finished fourth in the Premier League to book their place in the Champions League and also brought silverware to the club, winning the Conference League. Of course, the Blues need to be aiming a lot higher after the investment that has been made into this squad. But at least, they are making progress.

The same cannot be said about Manchester United. Since the appointment of Ruben Amorim as manager, replacing Erik ten Hag, they have fallen far behind expectations. Things need to change as quickly as possible. But then again, people have been saying that for over a decade without much result.

It looks like Manchester United now have a Chelsea player in their sights. Interestingly, it is not someone who is in top form.

As reported by FootballTransfers, Manchester United have expressed interest in making a summer move for Nicolas Jackson. Amorim wants to add a centre-forward to his squad this summer and the Chelsea striker has been identified as an alternative to the likes of Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres.

Jackson has a ton of upside, there is no doubt about that. He has a lot of good qualities as a striker. But right now, he is not ready to lead the line for a top team. That is pretty clear.

He simply does not appear to have the confidence or instincts of a top striker in front of goal. And with Chelsea agreeing a deal for Liam Delap, there are question marks over Jackson's future at Stamford Bridge.

It remains to be seen if Manchester United do end up making a move for Jackson. For the right offer, one would imagine that Chelsea would be open to the idea of the Senegalese international forward leaving.
