If you follow Chelsea news even remotely closely, you'll be well aware that meticulous manager Enzo Maresca runs a tight ship, so to speak. The former Manchester City coach under Pep Guardiola, who also navigated the Leicester City vessel back to the big time, only wants beneficial personnel aboard the Blues craft.
Anyone with a negative influence or who is surplus to requirements is removed or pretty much ignored. This will be hard for some athletes and sentimental fans to understand and digest. But everything the Italian does is for the good of the CFC team. I can guarantee you that! Nothing is left to chance, nothing is ambiguous or arbitrary. If autocracy ever works, maybe it is in this sport - Enzo is in control.
And Maresca is so detached from any potential feelings for anyone not directly associated with the playing side (of which he has two, with the second for cup competition) that he can easily dismiss and disregard whenever necessary. We can note and explain three examples of these Alex Ferguson-esque dictatorial methods. That's because Maresca has basically informed unhappy Blues that they can, and probably should, leave the outfit. Before we dig into that, I want to briefly chat about former Chels star Oscar.
Chelsea legend Oscar joins new club
Oscar has now departed the Chinese Super League, where he left Stamford Bridge for in 2016. The Brazilian is back in his homeland. He'll be turning out for Sao Paulo henceforth.
Enzo Maresca has essentially told any dissatisfied Blues to find new clubs
As previously outlined, Maresca has his own views on how a roster is ran. And his latest comments seem aimed at unwanted pair Ben Chilwell and Carney Chukwuemeka:
"if they knock on the door and they want to leave, I’m not going to say: ‘No, no you have to stay here, 100 per cent. If they want to leave, the best thing for everyone is that the players who aren’t happy are going to leave.'"Enzo Maresca
In addition to that, a different message was sent to another Blue. Below is what Maresca notified Christopher Nkunku of:
"We like Christo and we want him here."
