Newcastle 2-0 Chelsea: Abysmal ratings across the board in Cup elimination
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall: 4/10
Dewsbury-Hall offered no threat on the right wing. In the 57 minutes he played, his dribbling was tidy, and he won all the duels he contested, but as far as attacking goes, you could argue that he didn't play.
Joao Felix: 4/10
Felix contributed negatively to the game. He missed one of the two big chances the Blues had and tied with Veiga for the most fouls committed on the pitch. Once again, he went through the game as the attacking midfielder and created zero chances.
Mykhailo Mudryk: 6/10
Mudryk was slightly better than the other attackers on the night, but with how horrendous the others were, that's not saying much. He did provide the most free-kick opportunities for Chelsea, creating four chances.
Christopher Nkunku: 4/10
You could make the case that Nkunku did not play, except that it would be a difficult case to make considering he missed the only other big chance the Blues had. He also made many fouls, which did not help matters, especially given how poorly Maresca's men defend set pieces.
Noni Madueke (67’): 5/10
Many fans think Madueke was better than Dewsbury-Hall when he came on, and they'd be right, partly because of how poor Dewsbury-Hall was. It was nearly impossible to be worse. Madueke, to his credit, tried to make things happen, but Newcastle gobbled up all his crosses in the air.
