Bournemouth 0-1 Chelsea: Tactical Insights and Post-Match Analysis
By Fahd Ahmed
Bournemouth's Late Resurgence
Despite Chelsea’s growing dominance, Bournemouth regained their pressing intensity after making substitutions around the 75th minute. Iraola’s side switched back to a front-four press, helping the home team regain some of the momentum they had lost earlier in the half.
However, it was individual brilliance that made the difference for Chelsea. Sancho and Christopher Nkunku combined beautifully for the only goal of the game, showcasing the star quality that proved decisive on the night.
Conclusion: Room for Improvement
While the result was vital for Chelsea, the performance left much to be desired. The Blues struggled to break down Bournemouth’s press for most of the match, and their defending was passive at times. A brief period of dominance in the second half ultimately won them the game, but much work remains to be done before their next fixture.
Maresca’s men will need to find more consistency if they hope to maintain momentum in the Premier League, starting with a challenging trip to West Ham.
