Chelsea 2-2 Burnley: 3 Blues Talking Points
By Abdul Abdullahi
No late goal to save blushes
This isn't just an isolated game for Chelsea; the squad has been performing below par for quite some time, with certain performances being overlooked due to late goals salvaging results. For instance, Conor Gallagher's late winner against Leeds United in the FA Cup fifth round came after Leeds had troubled Chelsea significantly. This trend can be observed in matches against teams like Newcastle in the Carabao Cup, Leicester City, both both Crystal Palace fixtures, and many others. Despite some victories, many performances have been lackluster, but they often go unnoticed because "three points is three points," which is true to an extent. However, this approach is not sustainable in the long run.
The team appears disjointed, the manager seems clueless, and has lost the faith of the CFC fanbase. Moreover, the owners are facing significant backlash during the international break, and it doesn't seem like it will subside anytime soon. It’s all falling apart and for the second year running, we can’t wait until the season ends and who knows, we’ll relive it again and again.
