2. Malo Gusto’s Return From Injury

French U-21 international Malo Gusto made his return to the starting lineup after suffering an injury against Crystal Palace just before the international break. He played a solid first half, providing the assist for Nkunku’s second goal with a pinpoint low cross. Although Chelsea kept clean sheets in his absence, Gusto’s presence at right-back is a welcome boost for the team, especially with Reece James still sidelined without a clear return date.

3. First Minutes for Several Players

Tuesday night saw the third start of the season for goalkeeper Filip Jörgensen. It also saw the first minute and start for midfielder Cesare Casadei. Jörgensen had a quiet night, confidently handling the few challenges he faced. Casadei took some time to find his rhythm but settled well into his midfield role.

Ben Chilwell replaced Gusto at halftime, while academy graduate Josh Acheampong and Tyrique George were introduced for the final 30 minutes. Carney Chukwuemeka also made his first appearance of the season, creating two chances during his time on the field, while Marc Guiu came on alongside him in the latter stages of the match.
