Chelsea 5-0 West Ham: Blues player ratings
Moisés Caicedo: 8.1/10
While most of this season hasn’t been ideal for Moises Caicedo, since Enzo Fernandez was ruled out for the season with a hernia, Caicedo has played much better. Against the Hammers, he showed his growing comfort when playing with the ball at his feet. The Ecuadorian defensive midfielder had four successful dribbles, five accurate long balls, and an assist. The assist to Jackson was his second of the season. Defensively he won two of his three tackles and won seven duels.
Conor Gallagher: 8.3/10
While he may be overrated by many, lately Conor Gallagher has started to show why he has been rated highly. Today he scored a nice goal in the 30th minute his fifth of the season to give the Blues a 2-0 lead. However, six minutes later he should have scored his second goal but couldn’t guide the ball into the back of the net. Gallagher’s passing was on point completing 98% of his 58 passes.
Cole Palmer (89’): 8.4/10
Palmer got the scoring started in the 15th minute scoring his 21st Premier League goal of the season. For the rest of the match, Palmer dictated play through the middle as a ten and came close a few times to scoring or assisting on a goal. But his natural involvement in the game makes him the engine that gets the car going for this Chelsea side.
Mykhailo Mudryk (76’): 7.1/10
While it wasn’t a bad performance for the young Ukrainian winger, it wasn’t his best either. Mudryk struggled to get involved in the game, he only created two chances and had one successful dribble. He did have two shots on target, but in the 72nd minute, Mudryk had a good chance in front of goal but shot it right at the goalkeeper Alphonse Areola.
Nicolas Jackson: 9.4/10
The man of the match today has to be Jackson, after scoring two goals and collecting an assist. Jackson now has 13 EPL goals on the season, he has more non-penalty goals than Mohamed Salah, Kai Havertz, and his teammate Palmer. Today he had two goals, one was an easy tap-in, and the other was a superb finish on a one-on-one with Areola. Throughout the season Jackson has struggled in one-on-one situations. Throughout the game the former Villareal striker worked his socks off, making long runs, and even defending well winning six duels.
