Chelsea 5-0 West Ham: Blues player ratings
Noni Madueke (76’): 9.2/10
In his last three matches Madueke has improved, he has found a home on the right wing, and has constantly challenged defenders with his pace and quick twitchy movements. Against West Ham, he had a goal and an assist. The goal came fortuitously thanks to a header from Silva in the 36th minute. The assist to Jackson showed an unselfish side of Madueke, and once the goal was scored Jackson jumped into Madueke’s arms for a warm embrace. His passing was superb having only three bad passes out of 45.
Cesare Casadei (76’):
Appearing in his ninth match of the season, Casadei was active making runs and completing all seven of the passes he made.
Christopher Nkunku (76’): 5.9/10
Making his first appearance since the Carabao Cup Final against Liverpool in February, Nkunku was quite rusty. This is not a surprise considering how much time the former RB Leipzig striker has missed throughout the season.
Axel Disasi (82’): (N/A)
Malo Gusto (83’): (N/A)
Alfie Gilchrist (89’): (N/A)
Mauricio Pochettino: 9.7/10
Today was a good day for Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino, his team won 5-0 and he got the tactics right. The absence of Fernandez has allowed the former PSG manager to play Palmer as a ten and has freed up Gallagher and Caicedo in the process. The performances lately have shown a team fighting for their manager which is exactly what you want to see from a young team. The fact that Pochettino’s job is reportedly in jeopardy if the Blues don’t qualify for European football next year is absurd. Firing the manager will only set the club back even more.
