Mauricio Pochettino, or whoever is in charge of Chelsea for 2024/25, should build the team around attacker Cole Palmer. There are a few areas which require strengthening in the summer, which The Pride of London will assess. The suggested signings would potentially further enable and increase the England international's significant influence in the Blues side.
First of all, let's take a quick look at the two senior CFC goalkeepers. Any good side with great forwards like Palmer needs a solid base. I think Djordje Petrovic has done a decent job for a young professional who was chucked straight into the flaming frying pan which is Chelsea Football Club at present. Nevertheless, he isn't up to the west London outfit's incredibly high general standard over the past couple of decades.
Maybe in the future, Petrovic might perhaps find himself at the level necessary to aid the Blues' hunt for silverware. He may go out on loan, become successful elsewhere and return as a true Chels' No.1. For now, I would have to say that the team could be in safer hands under Robert Sanchez. Apparently CFC recruitment staff have their eyes on Brazilian goalkeeper Bento of Athletico Paranaense. So watch this space for any developments there during the offseason.
