According to a report from a typically reliable source, Chelsea are closing in on further transfers. In fact, a triple signing has been suggested in the media. Are Basel's Renato Veiga, Aaron Anselmino of Boca Juniors and Major League Soccer star Caleb Wiley (Atlanta) heading to Stamford Bridge this summer?

Chelsea and Arsenal crossover

As we have already seen, Chelsea are active in the second 2024 transfer window ,in more than one way. Well, in reality, there is an almost triangular approach to present Blues business. Don't worry, I will explain what I mean by that, as I am sure it is unintentionally confusing.

There are three sides to CFC's current dealings: buying, selling and ensuring Profit and Sustainability (or Financial Fair Play) Rules are adhered to. This is partially achieved by having homegrown players at the heart of a few deals. Movements are ramping up dramatically at the moment, with further switches and agreements supposedly planned on Fulham Road.

Major media outlets suggest Chels', along with Premier League rivals Arsenal from north London, are stepping up activities. And that sentiment applies with respect to incomings and outgoings at the Bridge, at least. There are some interesting connections between the Blues and the Gunners here, too.

For example, a pair of players have reappeared in the Chelsea sphere once again. It is two names which have been linked with potentially moving to the English capital before: Italy international Riccardo Calafiori, as well as Brazilian Raphinha.

The Bologna defender may be heading to Emirates Stadium during this very EPL offseason. However, the west London team have been named as admirers of the Euro 2024 standout too. Unfortunately Calafiori got himself suspended for the Round of 16 so his last involvement with the Italians was in the Group Stage.

Meanwhile Raphinha is back where he is seemingly most comfortable, amid the muddle of transfer gossip. The Barcelona winger is said to be the subject of a player-plus-cash offer from Mikel Arteta's side. He is another who was supposedly nearing a switch to Chelsea approximately a year ago and prior to that.

Triple transfer signings at the Bridge?

Midfielder Renato Veiga is apparently available for £11 million, and CFC are happy to pay his fee. Aaron Anselmino, a defender, is to cost the Blues £17m. Meanwhile Caleb Wiley will purportedly be acquired and sent to sister club RC Strasbourg.

"Chelsea are closing in on a triple transfer swoop. The Blues are ready to pay £11m for Basel midfielder Renato Veiga and are also finalising moves for Aaron Anselmino from Boca Juniors as well as American left-back Caleb Wiley."
