According to a report, Chelsea co-owner Behdad Eghbali was never truly sold on Mauricio Pochettino becoming head coach of the Blues. And Eghbali is still said to be unconvinced by the ex-Tottenham Hotspur gaffer. In the meantime, the former is considering other options for 'Poch', whose job is clearly very unsafe in spite of the brilliant achievement of taking this unfinished team back to Europe. Meanwhile, The Pride of London explain why a prominent CFC player has revealed that the squad trust and believe in their boss.
Djordje Petrovic discusses his admiration for Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino
As previously mentioned, despite PoL's view that Pochettino technically overachieved by attaining Europa Conference League qualification for 2024/25, apparently he is in the dark regarding his current standing on Fulham Road. But it appears as though some core members of the CFC roster, or even possibly the majority of the players, rate the Argentine and are content for him to stay.
Before we go on, as a caveat to the previous opinion. Some of the Blues who aren't playing or don't make the starting lineup will actually be unhappy with their situations. Nonetheless, it is important to hear from Djordje Petrovic, the man who was asked about Poch.
Petrovic has gone so far as to claim that the team as a whole believe in the one-time Paris Saint-Germain gaffer. In addition to that statement, the goalkeeper who became the Chels' No.1 under Pochettino says he also has faith in his mentor's fellow Stamford Bridge coaches.
The 24-year-old stated that a solid relationship between players and staff exists. He added that the supportive environment is beneficial for everyone involved and the atmosphere. All sounds good at Cobham, doesn't it!?
Petrovic highlighted the fact that it is difficult to handle managerial duties with a group of 25 people. However, he mentioned Poch's excellent man management and declared that the 52-year-old manages to keep everybody happy. Take note, Todd Boehly and Eghbali!
Hesitant Chelsea ownership deliberate Mauricio Pochettino's future
The Chelsea owners are 'dubious' in both senses of the word: at least one of them doubts Pochettino's capabilities as manager, while their own capacity to run the famous west London club is suspect at best. Let's hope their policy to sign unproven youth comes to fruition. So, after getting European football for next season, why is Poch still under the microscope at the Bridge?
"TEAMtalk sources have confirmed that co-owner Behdad Eghbali was never fully convinced he was the correct man from the start and is yet to be fully sold on the ideas of the Argentine manager.
Eghbali is the man who will make the final decision on Pochettino’s future and some TEAMtalk sources suggest he is open to exploring other avenues.
This is despite Eghbali recognising the improved form in the second half of the season and the fans turning toward supporting the former Spurs boss."
