Chelsea have received a real boost before playing Liverpool in their subsequent Premier League match to the Nottingham Forest fixture. Reds boss Arne Slot offered a revealing comment on a star player of his team. Goalkeeper Alisson has essentially been ruled out of international duty with Brazil over the coming fortnight by his club gaffer. We know managers are reluctant to release their standout and crucial assets for national service. Yet, tellingly, Slot also guessed that the upcoming clash with the Blues will come too soon for the famed stopper.

Meanwhile, and optimistically for CFC supporters, the west London outfit are ostensibly targeting some reinforcements for their already developing squad. Chelsea are said to be chasing Bundesliga star Karim Adeyemi. Apparently the Blues have identified Borussia Dortmund’s outstanding winger as a target. Of course, Chels' previously targeted the absolutely rapid 22-year-old German. Now the English capital side wish to secure his services at last.

A problem for Liverpool is a bonus for Chelsea

Obviously The Pride of London wishes no ill on any person, that includes rival top-flight players. However, if a few eminent ballers are unavailable when Chelsea meet the EPL's big six clubs - we'll take it!

You might perhaps have witnessed the Merseyside outfit's contest with Crystal Palace on Saturday lunchtime. If you did, you'll have noticed that quality LFC stopper Alisson Becker was withdrawn early with a hamstring injury. The issue did not appear to be minor judging by the 32-year-old's reaction to the situation.

It is not truly known quite how bad the prognosis is at this early stage. Although Slot did imply that his 'keeper will be out of action for a while. The Dutchman doesn't believe that Alisson will be available to face the Blues, this means he the goalie would also miss Brazil's World Cup Qualifiers versus Peru and Chile. We shall see.

Blues targeting speedster - but is another required?

Chelsea have many wingers at present. And they are mostly fast and direct widemen too: Mykhailo Mudryk, Pedro Neto, Noni Madueke, Jadon Sancho. The list of comparable footballers at Stamford Bridge is basically endless. Meaning the need for another doesn't exist.

Clearly any club with similar aims to the ambitious CFC desires constant improvement in all areas. Yet these Chels wingers are beginning to realise promise in most cases. Nevertheless, the race is supposedly on for Adeyemi:

"According to a recent report from Fichajes, Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea have ‘expressed a serious interest’ in signing the Munich-born winger in a deal that could reach £42 million (€50 million)."
