Chelsea may beat European giants to sign versatile defender

According to a report, Chelsea might perhaps beat some giant European clubs to sign a fullback who is on their shopping list. The Pride of London look at Bosnia international Amar Dedic. In addition to covering that story, PoL talk about the upcoming Carabao Cup semifinal the Blues have reached.

CFC are after 21 year old Dedic, apparently. However, a report claims Arsenal, Roma, Barcelona, Newcastle United and Inter Milan are in the chase, too.

"Chelsea aim to beat Newcastle to big-money transfer of Salzburg ace Amar Dedic but could also face battle with Mourinho. Three other European giants also keen on exciting youngster."

Chelsea vs Middlesbrough in the English Football League Semifinals

Mykhailo Mudryk was the saviour on the evening as Chelsea rescued the quarterfinal at Stamford Bridge. Hopefully the Ukrainian will add more goals and assists to his game now because there absolutely is a defender's nightmare somewhere in that boy! CFC goalkeeper Đorđe Petrović is now the latest fully fledged fan favourite on Fulham Road as his penalty-saving heroics led to victory. Petrovic was in for the occasionally shaky and currently injured Robert Sanchez. The Spaniard will have to watch his back when once again fit; Sanchez could even find himself relegated to No.2 if the Serbian continues his fine goalkeeping form.

So, the Blues will play Middlesbrough in the semis. Those two fixtures should be rather intriguing and certainly pulsating occasions no doubt. I am sure I am not the first to say it, but winning the Carabao Cup would technically save the season. That eventuality would, of course, guarantee Chels' a place in the Europa League next campaign. It may not sound like much for a typical Blues term, well, it isn't really. Nevertheless, any route to Europe is desperately required for a myriad of reasons. ChelseaFC.com suggest that ties occur the week commencing January 8, 2024, and culminate around January 22.
