Chelsea thrashed Barrow 5-0 at Stamford Bridge in a commanding third-round victory in the EFL Cup. The star of the night was Christopher Nkunku, who netted a stunning hat-trick in what was a thoroughly one-sided encounter.

From the first whistle, Chelsea took control, dominating possession and asserting authority early. Within just 15 minutes, the Blues were already two goals up, thanks to quickfire strikes from Nkunku. The France international first came in the 8th minute after a moment of brilliance from João Félix, who chipped a perfectly weighted ball over the Barrow defense, allowing Nkunku to volley home with precision. Seven minutes later, Malo Gusto whipped in a low cross that Nkunku expertly finished, doubling the lead.

By halftime, Chelsea had a comfortable 3-0 lead, and Maresca’s side relentless attack continued in the second half as they added two more to cap off a dominant performance. This dominant victory secures Chelsea's place in the EFL Cup’s fourth round, with the Blues eagerly awaiting their next opponent in Wednesday's draw.

Here at The Pride of London, we take a look at what this commanding result could mean for Chelsea’s journey this season.
