It is well known that Chelsea is a bit light in the striker department despite spending over a billion pounds in the last few transfer windows. In January, the Blues attempted to prise away Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting but decided not to take further action, mirroring other Premier League teams in one of the quietest transfer windows in the Premier League. It has proven to be a wise decision, though, as Chelsea has been constantly finding the back of the net recently.

However, to challenge for top honours in the Premier League, or even make the top four, more firepower is needed upfront. Currently, Chelsea has Nicolas Jackson as the only traditional centre-forward in the team. Jackson has contributed nine goals and three assists in 24 league appearances this season. Not bad a bad output, but not good enough for a team challenging for top honours.
