Hakim Ziyech

The Moroccan winger has spent the last season at Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig on loan after a failed move to Paris Saint-Germain in 2023.

The 31-year-old is evidently past his prime and does not fit Chelsea's age profile, therefore, they decided in advance last season to include a buy option for Galatasaray if they wished to keep Ziyech beyond the current campaign, which they have activated, as reported by Fabrizio Romano on May 8th.

Furthermore, the right-wing department is fairly overpopulated with young talent for Ziyech to find game time.

Noni Madueke is laying a stern claim for the spot at the latter end of the 2023-24 season with numerous eye-catching performances. Omari Hutchinson, another right winger, has enjoyed a successful campaign with Ipswich Town in the Championship. Although he will likely continue with the promoted club next season on loan, there is still a possibility that he could return and challenge Madueke for a spot in the team.

Moreover, Raheem Sterling and Cole Palmer can play in this position, making it nearly impossible for Ziyech to find minutes. Therefore, it is no surprise that he has left Chelsea.
