Right centre back

Ibrahim Konate — Liverpool

Ibrahim Konate has been a key presence in the Red's defence this season. He has formed a good partnership with Virgil Van Dijk at the heart of the Liverpool defence helping them to become the best defence in the premier league behind only Arsenal. The Frenchman has played 28 matches this season winning 106 duels and providing 37 tackles.

Left centre back

Virgil Van Dijk— Liverpool

The towering Virgil Van Dijk has been a benchmark for defenders in the Premier League for a few seasons. The Dutchman boasts a 77% duel success rate while also contributing three goals and two assists.

Left back

Andy Robertson — Liverpool

Both Andy Robertson and Ben Chilwell have spent more time on the sideline than playing. Although Chilwell has regained the left back position following injury problems, he is yet to hit top form. Both have a combined 24 topflight appearances this season with one assist each. This position in this encounter is a very weak battle, but Robertson is a more reliable option than Chilwell

Defensive midfield

Wataru Endo — Liverpool

This is an interesting head-to-head between Wataru Endo and Moises Caicedo, who chose the Blues ahead of the Reds, prompting the Reds to find an alternative in Wataru Endo. Both have a 58% rate of tackles won and have received nine yellow cards each this season. Endo has contributed three goals with one assist in 28 appearances this season. Overall, Endo has had a better season and slots in at the base of the midfield.

Central midfield

Enzo Fernández— Chelsea

This is by far the toughest battle on the field. Alex Mac Allister has played 28 matches this season, with 21 of them coming in the Premier League. The Argentine has six goal contributions (two goals and four assists). Enzo Fernández has been a constant presence in the Chelsea midfield. The World Cup winner has made 31 appearances, contributing seven goals and one assist.
