Chelsea vs Man United player ratings: Hattrick hero Cole Palmer gets perfect score, again

Chelsea delivered the most entertaining game (for the neutral of course) a Premier League fixture has ever seen, while also delivering the worst defensive performance in recent times. Actually, those two things go hand-in-hand

Moises Caicedo: 4/10

Caicedo was also abysmal. His role in the first and second goals makes a case that he helped Erik ten Hag’s men back into the game. His misdoings for the second goal was less obvious, as he and Gusto were really marking no one, not making themselves useful in that defensive situation. However, his misplaced five-yard pass to Badiashile literally allowed Man United back into the game. He also won just one out of five duels on the night.

Enzo Fernandez: 5/10

Fernandez’s rating will be helped by an assist, but truth be told, he was just as poor as Caicedo on the night. His long passing was expectedly good, but he also lost all his duels on the night except one. This means that between the Argentina midfielder and his Ecuadorian colleague, they won one ground duel and one aerial duel. They also attempted two tackles between them.

Conor Gallagher: 8/10

Gallagher was very good against Man United. His role in winning the ball back cannot be overemphasized. His goal was just the icing on the cake. He has shown time and again why he deserves to start, and in fact captain, the team.

Cole Palmer: 10/10

Palmer dropped a perfect performance once more in Chelsea blue. He was also perfect in the Burnley game, scoring two goals and creating two clear cut chances. Palmer’s hat trick was only one of the good things about his performance. He was all-action, creating chances for his teammates and winning crucial fouls.
