According to the Premier League rumour mill, current Chelsea captain Conor Gallagher could still leave the Blues this summer. The England international might perhaps replace top midfielder Bruno Guimaraes at rival English top-flight club Newcastle United. The Brazilian is, of course, tipped to leave St James Park at the end of the season. In addition to those factors, The Pride of London also offer a verdict on Gallagher's supposedly revealed price tag. Meanwhile there is a CFC injury update before meeting Manchester City in the FA Cup semifinal on Saturday.

Let's begin by looking at the fitness of the Chelsea squad as a tough match looms with a significant prize at stake. Mauricio Pochettino's men can actually qualify for the most prestigious domestic cup competition this weekend. The only team standing in the way of playing Coventry City or Manchester United at Wembley in the big match, is Man City. Oh dear.

The Citizens are a remarkably difficult hurdle to overcome for any side in recent times. Yet, the poorest but still successful Real Madrid effort you're likely to ever see did prevail against Man City on Wednesday evening. So, in other words - you never know Blues fans!

Although, there isn't much positive news emerging from the CFC treatment room, as per football.london. Evidently the west Londoners remain heavily affected by the absence of crucial stars. Romeo Lavia, Christopher Nkunku and Wesley Fofana won't return until next season. Unfortunately, a couple of stars' fitness is unknown at present, too. The pair is comprised of Reece James and Levi Colwill.

Surely Conor Gallagher's worth more to Chelsea than £40m, even with a contract expiring next year?!

Due to his deal running out in 2025, I suppose I can see why the CFC hierarchy would accept a bid of £40 million for Gallagher. Nevertheless, if the warrior midfielder stays at Stamford Bridge, I think his calibre, commitment and influence are potentially worth more to Chels' than that figure. Give him a new deal, Todd.

If Gallagher had a longer contract with the Blues, he would probably be valued a little higher than the aforementioned sum. Somewhere between £50m-60m feels more appropriate for the 24-year-old. Therefore it is no surprise that teams like Newcastle and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly monitoring the Three Lions squad member.

Guimaraes may be on his way out of the north east side this summer. And with Sandro Tonali unavailable until almost September, there will likely be a gap on the Magpies roster.
