Fabrizio Romano's update on Pochettino's standing with Chelsea owners
In spite of some underwhelming matches of late, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano has declared that the Chelsea hierarchy are sticking by Pochettino, for now. In fact, the Italian essentially says that the 'Poch' project is being backed long-term.
Richard Keys' brutal assessment of Mauricio Pochettino and Chelsea
Presenter and football writer Richard Keys has written about Chelsea on his online blog. Football.london describe the managerial evaluation as a "brutal" one. Keys is another pundit-type who sometimes makes slightly outlandish, unfair, unkind or peculiar claims on the parameters of the footballing world. While he can be fairly astute when discussing on-field matters, as is his long-time onscreen partner and ex-professional Andy Gray.
On this occasion, the 'sports commentator' was making a comparison between the Argentine boss of CFC and Tottenham Hotspur gaffer Ange Postecoglou. Also thrown into the mix was unsuccessful Chels' boss Graham Potter, whose record with the west London team is actually comparable to Pochettino's at present.
Furthermore, Keys does not believe that the ex-Spurs head coach deserves more time at Stamford Bridge. The 66-year-old makes that statement when considering the monumental £1 billion spend on Fulham Road. The outlay is yet to yield many positive results.
Neither does Keys think 'Poch' should be given transfer funding. The former suggests that the Chels' chief cannot 'get a tune out of his current roster', so why should Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali give him more money spend.
