How far can Chelsea go this season?

After a busy summer, the Blues kicked off the season with a bang, securing 13 out of 18 possible points and claiming the 4th spot in the Premier League table. But the big question is, how high can they soar?

Although Chelsea suffered a setback in their opening match against current Champions Manchester City, they have been on fire ever since, dropping only 2 points in 5 league games, beating Brighton 4-2 at Stamford Bridge in their latest outing thanks to four goals from rising star Cole Palmer. Their attack is looking sharper than ever, scoring goals and creating chances like they haven't done in years.

The pride of London had an eventful transfer window, bringing in some exciting new talent, particularly in the attacking department. These new additions have already made an impact on the pitch, but there's still a glaring issue that they haven't tackled - their defense.

Chelsea's relentless focus on scoring goals has left their defense vulnerable. Despite making a solid addition in Tosin Adarabioyo, their back-line remains unsteady, with errors from Wesley Fofana and Axel Disasi occurring far too frequently.

This leaves us with questions about how well can the Maresca boys do this season, both in the Premier League and In the UEFA Conference League.

The UEFA Conference League

The Conference League is the third-tier European competition, and the teams in this tournament are of much lower quality compared to what Chelsea has to offer. The Italian side Fiorentina, a 2-time runner-up, is the biggest football club outside of the Blues and poses the biggest threat to them. But with Chelsea's unrivaled quality and squad depth, there's no doubt that they are the clear favorites to win the trophy. They should go all the way and lift the trophy when it's all said and done.

The Premier League

The Premier League stands out as the absolute best in the world, offering top-notch quality and fierce competition in every single match.

Chelsea does have the depth to manage to compete in both competitions, but even with a world-class player like Cole Palmer on their side, Chelsea’s starting line-up quality just can't match the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal, which makes winning the league this season extremely unlikely.

It is possible for the Blues to secure a top-four spot and qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season. It won't be easy, and their defensive line needs to get their act together and step up, but with a talented team, a determined manager in Enzo Maresca, and a group of young players pushing themselves in every match, Chelsea might just achieve this and set the stage for something great in the years to come.
