A Chelsea midfielder has revealed his past unhappiness at Stamford Bridge. Why was the player unsatisfied in his Blues role? And how did he become more satisfied on Fulham Road? All is explained.
In the meantime, an out of form yet very expensive winger has been given a new position to try out. Was Mykhailo Mudryk successful in this fresh approach? CFC manager Enzo Maresca, never one to be shy and retiring, recently told the 23-year-old how he can improve. What exactly did the former Leicester City boss tweak with regard to the Ukrainian?
Revelations from up-and-coming Chelsea footballer Cesare Casadei
As a writer who covers Chelsea and Leicester, it leaves me rather uniquely positioned with respect to some Blues and Foxes, that's playing and managing. Some major names have switched between King Power Stadium and the Bridge in recent times. Wesley Fofana, Ben Chilwell, gaffer Enzo Maresca and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall among others.
But Casadei, who has notable ability and often great impact in games, goes under the radar somewhat, especially at CFC. The youthful Italian was so instrumental on Filbert Way during his brief loan that City supporters were sad to see his temporary stay end. He was specifically eye-catching and effective as an impact substitute from the bench.
Yet, at that time as with right now, the 21-year-old dreams of becoming a starting Blue. That wish wasn't granted under ex-Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino, however. A decision which gave the one-time Inter Milan starlet a conundrum: to stay or leave the Blues.
It is said that it was fellow countryman Maresca who 'convinced' Casadei to remain in the English capital. The two were, as previously outlined, together fruitfully at LCFC. Then came an offer the man from Ravenna, Italy couldn't refuse.
The player was, admittedly, considering his options; Casadei said he wasn't happy with his CFC career at that point. Although, as soon as the compatriots spoke the former made his mind up immediately, as stated here. The midfielder has now disclosed that he couldn't be happier being a Blue.
Will Mykhailo Mudryk's position move become permanent?
Has Mudryk found his feet at Chelsea? No, he definitely hasn't. Yet I've always been of the opinion that the Ukraine international could eventually be a deadly asset under the right management. You'd have to put Maresca into that managerial bracket, for sure. So what's the latest with the attacker?:
"Mudryk makes case to play new position
Maresca has not been shy in telling Mykhaylo Mudryk that he must improve certain aspects of his game, and the Ukrainian showed that he has been listening on Thursday with flashes of top quality against Gent.
It was interesting to note that his sumptuous assist for Veiga came from a right-footed cross. Mudryk, who plays primarily on the left wing, temporarily drifted over to the opposite flank and picked out an exceptional ball in with his stronger right foot.
With final product being one of the elements Mudryk needs to work on, that moment may give Maresca food for thought regarding a possible positional change for the 23-year-old, who has struggled on the left since landing at Stamford Bridge."
