Wesley Fofana, Centre- Back

Wesley Fofana is another player among the Blues who decided against going to play for their national team during the international break. The French defender has displayed great potential alongside Levi Colwill. The duo have featured in all three of the Blues' Premier League games. Playing them together every time will only help them get their chemistry to a good level.

Fofana has had problems with injury in the past. The club have decided to tackle this problem by taking him off from the UEFA Conference League team. This means that he will actively feature in the Premier League, enabling him to give his best in the competition.

Marc Cucurella, Left-Back

Marc Cucurella has had a transformative couple of months at Chelsea. At the start of last season, he was not the favourite to get into the lineup, but it has all changed now. The Spaniard won the Euros with his country and since he has been back has found himself as a mainstay in the Blues lineup.

His ability to invert into midfield and give space to his wingers is highly appreciated by manager Maresca. With some key figures ruled out, Cucurella will have to step his game up and lead the way for the defence to get them over the line against the Cherries.

Enzo Fernandez, Midfielder

Enzo Fernandez was under fire after his video incident post the Copa America triumph. However, he was able to bury the hatchet with his teammates and start the season without further punishment from the club.

With Romeo Lavia emerging, Fernandez's spot is not certain as it once was, but an injury to the Belgian means that Fernandez will once again be a key starter for Chelsea. He along with Moises Caicedo have had enough time at the club, but they haven't been able to give fans and even the manager a sense of security about their partnership. The Argentinian will be looking to step his game up and do well as Maresca would be tempted to try and experiment Lavia in the midfield once he gets back to full match fitness.
