Predicted Chelsea XI vs Burnley: Sterling starts in 4-2-3-1 formation
League action is back this weekend after the international matches across the globe. Many managers will be concerned about their player's wellbeing ahead of the set of fixtures at pivotal moments in the season. Mauricio Pochettino though may still be one of the happiest managers despite a host of injured players in the team.
Currently, nine first-team players are on the injury list. The injury list includes Robert Sánchez (knock), Levi Colwill (toe injury), Reece James (hamstring), Trevoh Chalobah (knock), Wesley Fofana (knee injury), Carney Chukwuemeka (knock), Lesley Ugochukwu (hamstring), Roméo Lavia (thigh injury), and Christopher Nkunku (hamstring injury).
We expect Pochettino not to make too many changes despite a host of injury lists because most of the first eleven in recent games are still available for selection. Here is the predicted eleven that could take on Burnley in the premiership match on Saturday at the Bridge.
Goalkeeper: Đorđe Petrović
Though Petrovic came into the season as a backup for Roberto Sanchez, he has seized the number one spot following Sanchez's injury in December. Since taking over as the primary goalkeeper, the Serbian has been phenomenal in goal for Chelsea in all competitions. He has produced a string of excellent performances and kept four clean sheets in 19 outings.
Left back: Ben Chilwell
Although both Chilwell and Cucrella featured for the entire 90 minutes on Tuesday for their respective countries, Chilwell is given the nod here. With Chelsea expected to dominate possession against Burnley, Chilwell will provide an outlet for Chelsea's attack against Burnley.
