If a report concerning Chelsea is true, this particular Premier League club's idea of swapping their up-and-coming player for a Blues star is a rather fanciful. Though, if a lot of money is also on the table to sweeten the deal, then maybe the idea is not as ridiculous as initially assumed. As well as discussing that matter, The Pride of London also comment as an English top-flight legend and World Cup-winner, who is also former Blue and Red, wants Arsenal to sign an emerging winger ahead of CFC.
Emmanuel Petit encourages Arsenal to capture Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise before admirers Chelsea take the chance to do so
I must admit that when Chelsea were reportedly considering bidding for Olise last summer, I wasn't overly enthusiastic about the possibility. Yet the scenario of the Frenchman signing for the Blues has become more attractive this season - even in spite of many fitness setbacks.
When on a Premier League pitch for Palace this season, Olise has been wonderful. It looks as though he may just be the real deal alongside equally eye-catching Eagle, Eberechi Eze. If reports are accurate, there are a few high-ranking sides monitoring the Palace pair.
Ex-Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder, Petit, has implored the Gunners to beat the Blues to Olise's signature during preseason. In fact, especially after watching the dazzling 22-year-old versus Manchester United during the south London outfit's 4-0 victory, the 53-year-old went so far as to urge Mikel Arteta to do 'everything' to acquire the wanted wingman.
Petit labelled the respective Eagles duo as "incredible". He added that he would have both of them at Emirates Stadium. But, if pressed for one or the other, he would take Olise over Eze. This way, Petit says, Bukayo Saka would have ample cover and support.
Why Aston Villa's scheme to exchange Conor Gallagher for Jhon Duran is surely out of the question even whilst Chelsea have PSRs to adhere to or resolve
There is no doubting that Jhon Duran is a quality striker on the rise. He has shown much potential and can even already do a job in the Premier League after a few stirring goals. Yet a few standout performances don't equate to fair value in a straight swap for Conor Gallagher.
Nonetheless, a report declares that Unai Emery would like to make this proposal a reality. PoL would like to see Gallagher kept, selling other Blues is preferable with regard to Profit and Sustainability issues. Meanwhile there are quite a few forwards already at Stamford Bridge; Duran isn't the marquee centreforward required. It would make more sense if the offer was, in reality, £40 million plus the Villan.
