Chelsea had high hopes that their season was on the upswing after a thrilling late comeback win against Manchester United midweek. However, their momentum stalled as they switched off and settled for a disgraceful 2-2 draw against bottom of the league, Sheffield United. Talking points to follow.

Silva celebrated his 100th Premier League start with the opening goal in the 11th minute, although it was far from convincing as he volleyed Conor Gallagher’s corner into the net, sneaking just inside Ivo Grbic’s right-hand post. Blades’ Gustavo Hamer delivered an excellent pass to find Bogle, whose shot from a tight angle on the right-hand side of the area deflected off Djordje Petrovic and found the net in the 32nd minute.

Despite struggling throughout the second half, Noni Madueke restored Chelsea’s lead in the 66th minute, receiving the ball from Cole Palmer, cutting inside, and firing past Grbic. However, Madueke's goal wasn't enough for the three points as an equalizer came in the third minute of added time when Hamer's header was knocked on by Cameron Archer into the path of McBurnie, who fired into the net from close range. Once again, shambolic defending from the Blues' perspective, but the hosts managed to salvage a point.
