This is why Chelsea's owners don't want Jose Mourinho as manager

Apparently, a famous manager who is linked with a return to Chelsea won't be coming back to Stamford Bridge if current Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino's eventually sacked. In addition to speaking about that topic, The Pride of London discuss a rumour that Feyenoord head coach Arne Slot has been added to Chelsea's list of potential successors for the precariously placed Pochettino. The west London club are reportedly considering making a move for the Dutchman should the Argentine be relieved of duty on Fulham Road.

Although a large number of vocal Blues fans appear to champion a homecoming for Jose Mourinho, that scenario feels less likely after a revelation. Sources close the the Portuguese legend, and at CFC, have seemingly dismissed the idea of a reunion:

"Contacts close to Mourinho have refused to say whether he would or would not be willing to come back, though they believe there is no appetite from Chelsea to appoint him for a third term.

Insiders at the club have echoed that statement, one individual involved in the new project suggesting it would send the wrong message if they returned to the face of the old ownership."

Arne Slot to Chelsea if Mauricio Pochettino leaves?

The Chelsea hierarchy will ostensibly consider Slot for CFC boss if and when 'Poch' exits through the Blue door. Some supporters of the English capital side will probably be surprised to hear the 45-year-old's name mentioned with the club. But, Chels' owners have already tried a lesser-known name in Graham Potter, which obviously didn't work. And having a more well-known character in Pochettino isn't working at present, especially in the Premier League overall.

And let's not forget that Slot is thought of as the best at what he does in the Netherlands by many players. He seems to win adoration from a lot of athletes. Incidentally, and notably, slot was once supposedly targeted by Chelsea's London rivals Tottenham Hotspur. However, the Feyenoord boss claims no "concrete" offers were made from Spurs or others around a year ago at the time in question. Below is what is being said about the matter at the moment:

"Feyenoord manager Arne Slot has been added by Chelsea to their list of possible Mauricio Pochettino successors, and they may make a move for the Dutchman."
