West Ham 0-3 Chelsea: The great, the good, and the ugly
The Good: Cole Palmer, Moises Caicedo, and counter-attacks
Cole Palmer has continued his red-hot form from last season, even though he has had more difficult conditions to deal with. The 22-year-old Englishman had a poor first half, after being double-teamed and kicked to oblivion. However, he showed his quality when he slotted a superb finish past a helpless Areola.
Moises Caicedo was Chelsea's second-best player on the day, winning the ball back at will and starting counter-attacks, all by himself. The Ecuador international contested 10 tackles, winning eight of them. He also won 10/12 ground duels and 3/4 aerial duels.
He made a difference in possession too, splitting the lines and even making a through pass to Jackson for the second goal. He completed 87% of his passes, eight into the final third.
Caicedo's intelligence and technique were crucial for Chelsea to take advantage of West Ham on the counter, ripping Lopetegui's men to shreds at every opportunity.
