England are set to take on Ghana in their second group match of the 2026 World Cup on Tuesday.
A 4-2 victory over Croatia — the highest ranked non-seeded nation in the tournament — last Wednesday in Dallas saw the Three Lions got off to a flying start.
A brace from Harry Kane and strikes from Jude Bellingham and Marcus Rashford sealed the result and put Thomas Tuchel's men firmly in the driving seat to top Group L.
Reece James will keep place in England team
Among those also in action against Croatia was Reece James.
The Chelsea captain started at right-back, and although he didn't have his best-ever game, he did complete the full 90 minutes.
And looking ahead to Ghana in Boston on Tuesday, James should retain his starting place, keeping the likes of Jarrell Quansah and Djed Spence on the bench.
Even though there are calls from large sections of England fans for Tuchel to replace John Stones with Marc Guehi, James is one defender who is virtually guarenteed to keep his place in defence.
The Chelsea skipper is simply too good to leave out, and on his day, is arguably the best right-back in the world.
Trevoh Chalobah to remain on bench
Chelsea have another player representing England.
Trevoh Chalobah received a last minute call up following an unfortunate injury to Newcastle United's Tino Livramento just 24 hours before the Croatia game.
The 26-year-old was not named among Tuchel's substitutes due to not arriving to the camp in time, but Tuesday's match against Ghana will definitely see the centre-back involved in some capacity.
After training with the rest of the squad ever since he arrived in Kansas last week, Chalobah is likely to be named among Tuchel's substitutes for the first time in the tournament.
Predicted England lineup vs. Ghana
Along with James, Jordan Pickford is expected to keep his place in goal with Ezri Konsa and Stones continuing their centre-back pairing. And, like James, Manchester City left-back Nico O'Reilly should keep his place at full-back.
Midfield picks itself. Declan Rice, Elliot Anderson and Jude Bellingham are all likely to start for a second time with the latter putting in a superb performance against Croatia, leaving Tuchel will no choice but to keep Morgan Rogers on the bench.
In attack, captain Harry Kane will lead the line with Noni Madueke and Marcus Rashford both strong favourites to support him on the wings.
Jordan Pickford; Reece James, Ezri Konsa, John Stones, Nico O'Reilly; Declan Rice, Elliot Anderson, Jude Bellingham; Marcus Rashford, Noni Madueke; Harry Kane.
If there are any changes from the game against Croatia, the likliest will be Rashford coming in for Anthony Gordon.
