Why rivals no longer fear Chelsea has become painfully clear

The Chelsea squad has been rather silent since losing at the Emirates Stadium in midweek. Frankly, Chelsea fans would rather it be that way.

Little blame can be pinned on the Chelsea players, but more can be pinned on Liam Rosenior. Yes, he's early in his coaching career and Chelsea is a big step up for him, but come on, it doesn't take a genius to point out the flaws in how he approached this game.

Chelsea fought for a 0-0, which they didn't get by the way, rather than chasing victory. They needed to win by at least one goal to stand a chance of reaching the final, but it took until the hour mark for Liam Rosenior to relly push his players forward.

It was one of those games where the players should've taken it upon themselves to ignore everything Rosenior was telling them to do, but hey, what do we know? Either way you look at it, Kai Havertz's last-gasp goal not only rubbed salt into the Chelsea wounds, it personified an alarming trend.

Chelsea has not won an away game against a 'big six' team, other than Tottenham, since Todd Boehly entered the fray in May 2022. Beating Tottenham is hardly an achievement to write home about, either.

What's worse is that Chelsea's away aggregate score against the big six stands at an embarrassing 41-18.

It's an incredibly selective data pool, but the numbers don't lie. Chelsea's presence away from home against the big six sucks ever since Todd Boehly came knocking.

At face value, you could say the owners do not impact on-field results. Instead, the blame should be on the players and coaching. However, looking at the bigger picture, club owners influence everything at the club.

From poor managerial decisions to splashing the cash on useless transfers, there's a reason why other big clubs in the Premier League do not take Chelsea seriously anymore, and Todd Boehly is the reason.

The big six, other than Tottenham, look at their home games against Chelsea as an easy day at the office. This should never be the case whenever a club as large as Chelsea arrive on your doorstep.

Unfortunately, all fans can do is complain. Fans have been removed further from the sport as the years have passed, and they've had to watch Todd Boehly rip the club apart from top to bottom while they can do nothing about it.

Hey, at least there have been two trophies won in Todd Boehly's era, right? Shush, don't mention that those trophies were only the Conference League and the Club World Cup...
