3. Jadon Sancho
The former Borussia Dortmund winger had a decent start at Chelsea after signing on loan from Manchester United. While not spectacular, it was a solid beginning, and fans were excited about the prospect of Chelsea signing him permanently at the end of the season.
However, Sancho’s recent form has been very poor. His dip in performances has coincided with Jackson’s poor form and subsequent injury, as well as Palmer’s struggles since Sancho had linked up well with both. But his underwhelming displays have raised questions about whether Chelsea should commit to signing him.
When Sancho was signed on loan, reports suggested there was an obligation to buy if Chelsea finished inside the top 14. However, recent reports indicate that Chelsea could opt against signing him permanently at the end of the season and could instead pay Manchester United £5 million to avoid the clause.
Sancho endured a difficult time at Manchester United and has expressed his joy at being at Chelsea. If he wants to avoid returning to United or having to search for another new club in the summer, he needs to improve and show Chelsea why he deserves a permanent deal. Fans have seen glimpses of the player who was excellent at Dortmund, and if he can showcase that more consistently while helping the team, he will be a valuable asset for the Blues.
