After some excellent displays over the initial part of the season, Chelsea Football Club are gaining further admirers. And these new fans are professionals in the form of journalism. That's right, some so-called top pundits are currently discussing the west London outfit. And it is the possible Premier League title chances of CFC which are being discussed, to be precise.

Enzo Maresca has made some great strides at Stamford Bridge, but there is a long way to go in the 2024/25 campaign. So, which eminent experts have talked about the Blues' progress and potential finishing position? What was said exactly? And are Chels anywhere near to top flight leaders Liverpool and Arsenal?

Meanwhile we must explore a likely transfer scenario on Fulham Road. This is because a few shock clubs are reportedly interested in signing a struggling yet gifted Chelsea winger. Will the Blues persevere with Mykhailo Mudryk further, or will he leave the Bridge soon? And which surprise teams are monitoring the Ukraine international?

Is Mykhailo Mudryk worth keeping or letting go for a reduced price?

To be honest if it were up to me, I'm unsure if I'd keep Mudryk or let him. Even if the latter decision meant the club would not recoup their entire outlay for the Ukrainian. Mudryk has so much blistering speed and can exhibit some good play and productivity on his day. So it's a tough one in my opinion.

Although, ultimately he hasn't shown anything like enough promise nor consistency to justify his enormous price tag. That was a reported £62 million, which could rise to £89m due to included add-ons within his contract. Shocking.

Nevertheless, the wideman remains popular if we trust reports. In fact, the 23-year-old is ostensibly wanted by some big sides. They include Barcelona, somewhat unbelievably, Newcastle United and Crystal Palace. The Blaugrana have slipped a bit lately, having Mudryk on the roster probably won't solve their problems.

Sky Sports and other prominent outlets acknowledge Chelsea's prominence though not considered true contenders yet

It is very reassuring to see CFC once again talked of in the same bracket as Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool. In spite of Man City's fall this term, this status upheaval is an indication of the Blues' rise under Maresca.

"Are Chelsea in it [the EPL title race]?

'Yeah, [of] course Chelsea are in it'"

Clinton Morrison, Sky

While Chels are level with the Gunners on points, they are nine behind the Reds. The Italian won't oversee an EPL triumph this year. Yet who knows next season!
