With some members of Chelsea's fan base surely excited at the prospect of new additions, speculation on the Blues' transfer plans has emerged. To be specific, further information or rumour has come to light regarding the west London side's apparent chase of a top winger. The man in question was once an exciting Premier League player, of course. And he played for one of the world's preeminent clubs and for a legendary manager.
It's been four years since one of the current prime Bundesliga stars left the prominent English top flight team. So, will the German return to the best division in domestic global football? Will he sign a new contract in Germany? Or will he join one of the standout clubs, such as Barcelona, keen to secure his signature?
Meanwhile we offer opinion on an additional Blues matter. While CFC goalkeeper Robert Sanchez has shown more quality recently, his Stamford Bridge starting place is said to remain under threat. The Fulham Road outfit have been widely urged to sign a new, arguably more qualified, 'keeper. The calls come from ex-professional footballers, journalists, fans and any other so-called expert like myself. But will Chels dip into the New Year transfer market for a stopper?
Would you like Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez at Chelsea?
That's right, Martinez was tipped by a pundit as a plausible and appropriate Blues acquisition. I'm unsure that the Villans will allow one of their prized assets to depart easily. Though, if the Birmingham club don't qualify for Champions League entry again, retaining the Argentine may be difficult. He'd be an upgrade on Sanchez.
Leroy Sane on the Blues radar
Along with Chels, PL rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are ostensibly eyeing Sane. So too are major Spanish side Barcelona.
I'm unconvinced this is a necessary signing, although I was wrong about Jadon Sancho. But what do claims state concerning the often electrifying wingman?:
"...the winger's contract runs out in June and there has been no breakthrough in negotiations with the German giants so far.The Sun
According to Sport, the standstill between the Germany international and the Munich outfit has led to intense interest from some of Europe's elite clubs.
Among them are United, Chelsea as well as Tottenham ahead of the January transfer window.
However, the Premier League trio could face competition from Barcelona, who are very interested in Sane."
