West Ham would like to sign Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, after not making a single Premier League start under Enzo Maresca this season.
It is clear to see why there was plenty of hype around Chelsea signing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in the summer transfer window. After all, he was a player with Enzo Maresca's imprint instilled within him, with both of them moving from Leicester City to Chelsea in summer.
However, it has not panned out for KDH in the capital quite as well as it has been for Maresca. The former Leicester academy star has been forced to substitute appearances in the Premier League and starting in the less important matches in other competitions.
West Ham want to save Chelsea star Enzo Maresca has ostracised
According to a report from the talkSPORT transfer notebook, West Ham United are interested in signing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in the January transfer window. It comes after West Ham are looking at options to improve their midfield going forward.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall was a staple for Enzo Maresca last season at Leicester. In the Championship, KDH was arguably one of the best players in the league for the Leicester side who dominated the second-flight. It is for this reason why the Italian manager *had* to bring him to Stamford Bridge.
Since the summer switch, though, KDH has been through nothing except misery in a Chelsea shirt. Despite putting in some good performances in the Cup and in Europe, he has been forced to watch his teammates push for the top four from the sidelines.
There is certainly a case to be made for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall going out on loan until the end of the season. This way, it would benefit all parties as he would get more game-time while Chelsea can bank on his development being guaranteed elsewhere.
West Ham might just be the perfect club for that. With James Ward-Prowse out on loan and Julen Lopetegui leading the charge, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall could get some serious minutes on the board at the London Stadium.
Time will tell just how serious West Ham's interest in Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is. Chelsea would be silly to step in the way of a loan move which benefits their player.
