There is finally an update on when Cole Palmer will return to the pitch for Chelsea. Worries have grown in recent weeks about his situation, with many wondering if it is worse than first thought. Firstly, there are Thomas Tuchel's comments regarding the matter. And there was that video of Jorrel Hato trying to celebrate with the injured Englishman after the win against Liverpool, and potentially making the matter worse.
It is unclear whether that incident had an effect or not. We do have an update on when you can expect Palmer to recover and return to the pitch.
As reported by BBC Sport, Palmer is expected to be out of action until November following a Chelsea meeting about his persistent groin injury. The Englishman is likely to miss the upcoming matches against Nottingham Forest, Ajax, Sunderland and Wolves.
Well, that is somewhat mixed news. A lot of fans were hoping to see him back right after the international break but as Tuchel had pointed out, that was always unlikely to happen. The positive is that it does not look like he will be out of action for long and will be back at some point next month.
When Cole Palmer will return for Chelsea from his injury finally confirmed
In the absence of Palmer, Chelsea have clearly missed their most influential player and arguably their best goalscorer as well, with Joao Pedro struggling to find the back of the net lately following his blistering start. So, Enzo Maresca will hope to have him back as soon as possible.
That being said, the most important thing is that Palmer recovers fully from his injury. As we saw in the post-match celebrations against Liverpool, it is still an issue for him.
Chelsea simply cannot afford to allow this to become an injury that Palmer is never able to shake off and it continues to disrupt his season, or potentially longer than that. So, he needs to be given as much time as he needs to fully recover from the issue.
