After the international break, club football is set to return this weekend. Chelsea's next task is an away game against Brentford. The Blues have started the season well with two wins and a draw from their first three Premier League games. And they could have easily won all of them if Andrey Santos and Estevao had taken their chances on opening day.

Injuries have been a major worry for Chelsea though. Liam Delap is expected to be out for the next couple of months, if not longer. Levi Colwill could miss the entire season. Moises Caicedo is training with Ecuador but his knee seems to be bandaged up.

Hopes were raised that Cole Palmer could return to action this weekend against Brentford. He had to pull out of the game against West Ham United with a groin issue during the pre-match warm-up and has not featured since then.

But if you were hoping to see Palmer against Brentford, there is a bit of a worrying update on that. Chelsea recently released pictures of their training session. While players like Benoit Badiashile and Romeo Lavia took part, there was no sign of Palmer.

Of course, there is the possibility that he just might not have been photographed on the day. But it is hard to imagine that Chelsea would not have posted a picture of Palmer if he had been back in training.

So, the assumption is that Palmer is yet to return to training. Of course, there are still quite a few days to go before the match. He might be back between now and then.

The issue is, at no point have the club come out and provided an official statement on the extent of the injury and given a possible return date. That has only led to speculation and worries regarding the situation of Palmer.
