We are now into the knockout stages of the World Cup, and the Chelsea contingent is still going strong. 12 Chelsea players started the World Cup, and all have gone through. However, one player, Marc Cucurella, will no longer be a Chelsea player when the round-of-32 comes around.

12 Chelsea players still going strong at the World Cup after the group stage

🇦🇷 Argentina - Enzo Fernandez. The midfielder played 90 minutes in Argentina's opening two games, but was rested in their final group game against Jordan. They will be much fancied to reach the round-of -16, as they play Cape Verde in their next match.

🇧🇪 Belgium - Mike Penders. The goalkeeper was on loan at Strasbourg last season. Penders does not start for Belgium, as they have former Chelsea keeper Thibaut Courtois. Belgium play Senegel in the next round, which is a fixture that could feature three Chelsea players.

🇪🇨 Ecuador - Kendry Páez, Moisés Caicedo. Paez was on loan at Strasbourg and then River Plate last season. He has been on the bench in all three of Ecuador's games so far. However, Caicedo has played every minute for them so far. He even wore their captain's armband as Ecuador shocked Germany in their final group stage match. They have a tough round-of-32 match as Ecuador faces the co-host, Mexico, in the country's capital.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 England - Reece James, Trevoh Chalobah. There are doubts about whether James will feature again for England at the tournament after suffering a hamstring injury. He missed the Three Lions' final game of the group due to this. Chalobah was brought in after Tino Livramento got injured, but has yet to feature at the tournament. Thomas Tuchel's side will play DR Congo next. Chalobah, who can play right-back, could be an option in the position instead of James. However, Tuchel used Jarell Quansah and then Djed Spence in England's last match against Panama.

🇫🇷 France - Malo Gusto. The right-back has made two substitute appearances for France in the group stage. Didier Deschamps favors Jules Koundé to start for Les Bleus. They face Sweden in the round-of-32. France, which got to the final in 2022, is one of the favorites for the tournament this summer.

🇳🇱 Netherlands - Jorrel Hato. He is a squad player for the Netherlands and has been on the bench in the Netherlands' group stage matches. Ronald Koeman has instead used Nathan
Aké and Micky van de Ven at left back. The Dutch play Morocco in the next round.

🇵🇹 Portugal - Pedro Neto. The Chelsea forward set up Joao Neves for Portugal's opening goal of the tournament against DR Congo. Neto has featured in all three of Portugal's games so far. He has played on both left and right wings. In the round-of-32, Portugal will play Croatia.

🇸🇳 Senegal - Mamadou Sarr, Nicolas Jackson. Sarr has been benched for Senegal so far. However, Jackson, who was on loan at Bayern Munich last season, has featured in all three of their games so far. Jackson is yet to get on the scoresheet, but did set up Ismaïla Sarr's goal against Norway. They will play Penders' Belgium in the next round.

🇪🇸 Spain - Marc Cucurella. He is technically still a Chelsea player, but Cucurella would have joined Real Madrid by the time Spain's round-of-32 tie comes around. He officially joins Los Blancos on July 1, and the next day, Spain plays Austria. Cucurella is Spain's starting left-back and has played every minute for them so far. He also forced Hassan Tambakti into scoring an own goal in Spain's victory over Saudi Arabia.
