Chelsea FC are confident of securing a deal to bring Paul Pogba to Stamford Bridge
Rumours have been swirling that Chelsea FC are once again keen on bringing Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba to West London. Now reports state that Jose Mourinho is almost taking the transfer as a given.

Chelsea have been circling around the ex-Manchester United man for the last few months, although interest has recently appeared to have fallen. However, on the back of the crafty Pedro swoop, the club seemed energised and have returned to court the Frenchman.
The Blues now believe that a deal for Pogba is a very realistic possibility, and are working towards that end.
"The club’s director in charge of transfers, Marina Granovskaia, remains in contact with Juventus over Pogba, rated at £70m by the Italians. That the Italians are still entertaining negotiations has given Chelsea belief that there is a willingness on the part of the club to sell their most prized asset this summer. – The Independent"
Yep, the price that Chelsea would have to pay is £70million. Having said that, Roman Abramovich has apparently made such funds available after watching the Blues stumble off the 2015/16 campaign starting blocks. Furthermore, since all of the club’s debts have been cleared by the owner, it is unlikely that such a deal would put Chelsea in any sort of economic difficulty.

The issue is whether this is believable or not. While the Blues have been linked with the player throughout the summer, talk about an actual serviceable agreement has only sprung up in the last couple of days. If Chelsea capture Pogba’s signature it would certainly be a surprise.
However, Marina Granovskaia is the woman in charge and she has proven time and time again that she can neogtiatie the big deals. This is highlighted by Pedro’s arrival just last week.

Chelsea could do with another centre-midfielder before the window is out as well. Currently Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas occupy the starting spots while their backup is primarily provided by John Obi Mikel and a young Ruben Loftus-Cheek. As a result, Fabregas has maintained his starting spot despite a poor start to the season simply due to the lack of quality alternatives.
The arrival of Pogba will bring much needed competition to the central roles and would hopefully force Fabregas to step up his game. Additionally he could provide an option in the more forward positions as well.
I’m just going to believe this report for the moment and get very excited over the prospect of Pogba in a Chelsea shirt. On the heels of Pedro’s deal, this is could be the final step the club needs to take to have a genuine shot at Champions League glory.
Ahhhhh yeah. The defence. Nevermind.
